Ten Years of Glass Spider Publishing

Somehow, ten years have passed since I first wrapped the name Glass Spider Publishing around a dream, crossed my fingers, and hoped it would take flight. I’m still not entirely sure how we got here—most days I’m too busy keeping up with manuscripts, emails, and the general circus of hybrid publishing life to know what day it is—but a decade feels like a milestone worth pausing for.

In those early days, it was just me and my wife—two people with more determination than sleep—scheming ways to use everything I'd learned about self-publishing to help other writers. Then, on one inauspicious day in January 2016, I pushed the "go" button on this website. I wasn't expecting the world. But I also wasn't expecting everything that followed. One by one, people began to reach out. The work came fast. The learning curve was steep. And the joy of watching authors hold their finished books for the first time never got old. It still doesn’t.

Ten years and about 150 books later (honestly, I lost count a long time ago), Glass Spider Publishing has evolved into a dedicated network of seasoned professionals who share a deep commitment to helping writers bring their stories into the world.

We’ve published authors ranging in age from ten to 100, and it’s been an honor to help each of them bring their stories to the printed page. We’ve celebrated book launches big and small—from quiet gatherings with cookies and folding chairs to full‑on standing‑room‑only events—and we’ve watched writers who once doubted themselves step boldly into the world as published authors. Along the way, we’ve had the joy of seeing several of those books become Amazon bestsellers and award winners. Not that I’m bragging, but yeah, I’m bragging.

And here’s the thing: we’re not done. The growth hasn’t stopped. Over the past year, we’ve greatly expanded our book marketing and publicity services to give authors more comprehensive, impactful support after launch. Only recently, we've added professional audiobook production and distribution through a new partnership with Audiobook Empire. And in a development I never could have predicted when this all began, four Glass Spider authors currently have books in various stages of film and television development. This is happening through a partnership I’ve formed with a small group of film industry professionals who are quietly pioneering a new, more author‑centered approach to book‑to‑screen adaptation. It’s early, it’s exciting, and it deserves its very own announcement when the time is right.

For now, I just want to say that none of this could have happened without the authors who trusted a guy and his Glass Spider with their stories. Every book we’ve published exists because someone took a leap of faith—in themselves, in their story, and in me. That trust is something I will never take lightly.

So here’s to ten years of manuscripts, deadlines, late‑night emails, and the quiet miracle of watching a story become a book. Here’s to the authors who made it possible. And here’s to whatever comes next.
