Glass Spider Publishing: The Story So Far

It's been a whirlwind first five months here at Glass Spider Publishing. When we launched the company back at the end of January, we had no idea business would take off the way it did. In fact, we've been so busy that this is the first opportunity I've had to remove my publisher's hat long enough to sit down and write a blog post! I'm not complaining.

In April, we published a sci-fi techno-thriller called DreamWake. Penned by first-time novelist Jordan Bell, DreamWake is a futuristic tale of virtual reality and lucid dreaming that pits a team of dream forensics detectives against an army of nightmare hackers. The book signing held at Pandemonium Art Gallery the following month was a great success, and an interview with Jordan was published to the highly-trafficked Indie Ogden website.

Next, we published a Kindle short story written by Utah author Mike Nelson. Mountain Man is a smart, gritty story of wilderness survival with a chilling twist that’ll stay with you long after you’ve finished reading. We're also currently in the process of editing Mike’s first full-length novel and are looking forward to publishing that very soon.

Our most recent publication is one that took several months to complete—a 124-page Utah state history book written and illustrated by the middle school students of Venture Academy. The book, titled Utah: By Kids, For Kids, is a fun, fabulous, and highly educational look at the history of the 45th state. It's already off to a great start, garnering some high-visibility local press. A book signing is scheduled to take place July 9 at the grand opening of Ogden's newest book store, Booked on 25th. Utah: By Kids, For Kids can also be found throughout Ogden at various book stores, including Hastings Entertainment, Planet Rainbow, and Eborn Books.

Probably the best news of all is this: There's plenty more where that came from. In the coming weeks and months, we'll be publishing a number of new and exciting titles in a variety of genres. Stay tuned to this blog for more information on our upcoming releases, or go here to sign up for our newsletter and get the information sent straight to your inbox.

As always, if you've written a book or short story that you'd like to get published, don't hesitate to contact us!
